FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Interstate 469 remains closed for several hours Wednesday morning after a series of chain-reaction crashes involving multiple vehicles, including two semi-trucks.
Allen County Sheriff’s Department officers were called to southbound I-469 just south of the Stellhorn Road overpass early Wednesday morning, just after midnight.
Police said a semi hauling a trailer was driving south on I-469 when it went off the west side of the road and hit the Stellhorn Road overpass and a large metal pole that was staged for construction near the roadway.
Debris creates additional hazards
