ALBION, Ind. (WANE) – After over a year without a grocery store, one market is stepping up to bring fresh produce and meats to Albion.
WANE 15 confirmed last month that a Dollar General is headed for the same building where the former grocery store, Albion Village Foods, was housed. The store closed in January 2025 for unknown reasons, forcing residents to travel about 10 miles to the nearest grocery store. Noble County Food Pantry had also seen a 25% increase in need since Albion Village Foods’s closure.
WANE 15 reached out to Dollar General Public Relations regarding the opening of a new location in Albion. In an email response, they said there will be a new Dollar General Market opening “in the coming weeks,” dependent on how construction progresses…
