House heavily damaged after fire in south Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A fire burned in a home on the southside of Fort Wayne, leaving heavy visible damage.

At around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a fire broke out in a home near the 400 block of Fairfax Avenue, just off of Hoagland Avenue. The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived at the home just minutes after the alarm went off and had the flames under control within 20 minutes.

When the Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived at the home, visible flames and smoke were emitting from the bedroom window of the single-story home…
