Woman charged after taking off with food and assaulting restaurant owner

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) says a woman is facing charges for robbing a local restaurant on February 4. Police say they were called around 5 p.m. to Khai’s Fusion, at 2823 E State Blvd.

The FWPD says the suspect, now identified as Riyana Harris, ordered food and left without paying. When she was confronted by the owner, police say that she pepper-sprayed him. Harris then left.

Earlier this week, police stopped her on Winch Street and took her into custody. Police added that they found drugs and suspected stolen merchandise in the vehicle she was driving. Officers believe those items were stolen from multiple Fort Wayne businesses…
