First Alert Forecast: Snow Showers Move In Sunday, Followed by Gusty Winds

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Winter isn’t quite ready to let go. Snow showers will move overnight Saturday into Sunday morning and stick around through the afternoon, bringing up to 1.5 inches of snow across the region.

The snow will be heaviest in the morning, becoming more scattered and hit-and-miss as the day goes on. Temperatures will struggle to reach the low 30s, so a few slick spots on the roads are possible throughout the day. Winds will also gust up to 30 mph, making it feel colder than the actual temperature.

Windy Monday Ahead

Don’t put away the winter gear just yet. Monday will be even windier than Sunday, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph. While snow chances end, it will remain mostly cloudy and cold with highs only around 30 degrees. The strong winds could make travel a bit tougher and may knock around lighter outdoor items.

Gradual Warmup Begins

The pattern starts to shift Tuesday through the weekend. Temperatures will gradually climb from the upper 30s Tuesday into the mid-40s by Friday and Saturday.

Wednesday looks partly sunny with a chance of an isolated rain shower, while Thursday could see a rain or snow mix. At this time, confidence remains low for any significant accumulation, but that could change. We’ll continue monitoring Thursday’s system closely for any changes…
