Teen sentenced in plea deal related to Fort Wayne machine gun trafficking investigation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) An Allen County judge sentenced a 19-year-old Fort Wayne man to prison on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of machine guns.

Police arrested Tyshawn Chambers in October of last year after a search of his home turned up multiple machine gun conversion devices that allow for multiple rounds to be fired with just a single trigger pull.

Chambers was released from prison in January for a separate criminal reckless conviction. In Tuesday’s sentencing, the judge gave Chambers five years in prison for the machine gun charge and tacked on another year for a one-year sentence for the criminal reckless conviction that had been suspended during the sentencing for that offense…
