Defendants in Pikes Pub attack appear at pretrial conference

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The six white men accused of beating a Black man last year at a bar near Fort Wayne appeared in court Friday for a pretrial conference.

The defendants are Justin Wert, Vard Warnock, Jerrad Impton, Ryan Minick, Christopher Yoho and Douglas Zuber. The six men are accused in the violent beating of James Simmons III this past May at Pikes Pub just outside Fort Wayne city limits. A video of the attack went viral on social media, showing several white men in Outlaw gear attacking Simmons, with racial slurs heard in the background.

Each defendant faces various charges related to the attack. The group last appeared in court this past September.
