FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A former inmate faces more prison time after being accused of trying to kill a man who previously turned over information about him to authorities. Thursday, the accused pleaded guilty to one of the charges against him.
Austin Freed, 27, pleaded guilty to a Level 3 felony count of aggravated battery. He faces a 15-year prison sentence for what was originally an attempted murder charge.
According to court documents in the case, Freed confronted a man in February 2025 in a north Fort Wayne neighborhood off Lima Road. Freed accused the man of snitching on him when they were both incarcerated at the Noble County Jail some time ago, according to court documents…
