FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne man was found guilty Thursday of felony charges pinned against him for a 2022 shooting that left his brother in life-threatening condition following a fight over spilled French fries.
Christopher Vibbert, now 36, was found guilty of a Level 3 felony count of aggravated battery and a Level 5 felony count of domestic battery, according to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. The jury also found him guilty of using a firearm in the commission of a crime, which will be tacked onto the sentencing as an enhancement.
It was Vibbert himself who called 911 after the Nov. 30, 2022 shooting in the 2300 block of Brooklyn Avenue. According to court documents, he admitted he’d shot his brother in the chest and hand but claimed his brother attacked him first and it was self-defense…
