Fort Wayne Police using advanced ballistics technology to cut gun violence

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne police are turning shell casings into leads, using advanced technology to track violent gun offenders faster than ever.

The Crime Gun Intelligence Center, launched in May 2025, houses one of just 25 units in the country, pairing local detectives with ATF special agents.
