Fort Wayne man runs 60 miles on his 60th birthday to honor his late mother and raise money for Erin’s House

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Randy May marked his 60th birthday by running 60 miles through Fort Wayne in what he called his “Reflection Run” — a hand-mapped route through the places that shaped his life, ending at Erin’s House, a grief support organization for children.

May started at midnight to fit all 60 miles into a single day. By 11 a.m., he and his wife, Erin, had already covered 42 miles. Erin had planned to ride alongside him on a bike for the entire route, but a flat tire forced a pit stop to swap bikes before they continued.

“My body, yeah, I’m fatigued a little bit, but I actually feel pretty good,” Randy said.
