First Alert Forecast: Chance for storms tonight and tomorrow morning

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) –

Update 10:25pm: This Watch has now expired: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, and Whitley Counties until 11pm.

Fort Wayne shattered a 40-year-old temperature record Friday afternoon as unseasonably warm air surged across the region, marking the first 70-degree day of the year. High temperatures soared to 76 degrees around 3 p.m. Friday, obliterating the previous record of 72 degrees set in 1983.

Isolated Severe Weather Threat

The primary concern for tonight will be isolated gusty thunderstorms. However, hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. This will all be as a result of the stalled warm front sitting off to our north, that has already spawned a strong tornado across southern Michigan.
