Driver hospitalized after pickup crashes 3 separate times on Lafayette Street

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Investigators are working to determine what caused a driver to crash three separate times south of downtown Monday afternoon.

A woman was driving a pickup truck on Lafayette Street south of Paulding Road when the truck first veered off the street, hitting a fence line and several trees, according to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department. The driver then pulled away and continued north on Lafayette.

Witnesses recalled seeing an “erratic” truck on the road that wasn’t able to travel in a straight line. The truck’s second collision involved rear-ending a car off Lafayette near McKinnie Avenue. Police said the truck briefly stopped; the driver of the rear-ended car was reportedly not hurt and the damage was minor…
