19-year-old killed, 2 more people injured in northern Indiana crash

BLUFFTON, Ind. — A teenager died and two more people were injured in a Sunday afternoon crash in northern Indiana, authorities said.

In a post on Facebook, the Wells County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. April 5 on County Road 1200 South at 200 West, which is just northeast of Montpelier.

The sheriff’s office said a car, driven by a 21-year-old Hartford City man, was going north “at a high rate of speed” on Blackford County Road 600 East and had just crossed the Wells County line, where the road was known as 200 West. Deputies said the driver lost control of the car, crossed the center line and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half…
