4 charged in mobile phone theft scheme totaling over $23k

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Four people have been charged for their alleged involvement in a mobile phone selling scheme.

Aaron Rucker, Gregory Banks, Sara Banks, and Jacqueline Banks have all been charged with Corrupt Business Influence, a Level 5 Felony, after nearly 30 mobile phones were stolen and sold to an ecoATM, which is a company that pays cash for cellular devices or tablets.

In February, Aaron Rucker was taken aside by the Loss-Prevention Agent for the United Parcel Service (UPS) Distribution Center, where he was employed. An investigation revealed that 26 cellular devices valued at $23,582 were stolen from the facility…
