Capital murder suspect Tydrick Davis back in Jefferson County custody following three-week manhunt

BEAUMONT, Texas — Tydrick Davis, the man wanted on a capital murder charge in the 2024 killing of a Beaumont woman, has been returned to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility following his capture in North Texas, according to jail records.

Davis, 21, was booked into the Jefferson County jail Sunday night, July 5, 2026, at 9:32 p.m. on a charge of capital murder by terror threat or other felony, jail records show. He is being held on an $800,000 bond that requires GPS monitoring, no contact with the victim’s family or witnesses, and that he remain in Jefferson County.

Davis was arrested Friday in Denton County by the U.S. Marshals Service after a three-week search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said. Since learning of his release from custody, members of the sheriff’s office’s U.S. Marshals Task Force worked with federal, state and local law enforcement partners to locate and apprehend him.
