HBCU Bands March into Dallas-Fort Worth for 2027

Cue the drumline and sound the trumpets — in August 2027, the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands (NBOTB) is moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area after calling Houston home since 2014. The event, which showcases top marching bands from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), will bring the artistry and tradition of their music to AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to introduce the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands to an entirely new audience while continuing to celebrate everything that makes HBCU marching bands so special,” Derek Webber, CEO of Webber Marketing and creator of the National Battle of the Bands, told Dallas Innovates.

Webber said the new location is the next right move for the event. “One thing we’ve always believed is that HBCU culture deserves to be experienced on the biggest stages,” he said. “Dallas gives us the opportunity to do that while introducing even more people to the excellence of HBCU institutions and their students.”…
