Grocery Boom Hits North Texas – 14 New Stores Coming Soon

Great news for grocery shoppers in North Texas, with experts saying 2024 will be the most active new construction market for grocers in a decade. At least fourteen new grocers will open or be under construction.

It’s no surprise that H-E-B will continue its rapid expansion, accounting for 22% of retail construction in North Texas.

Over the last year, four H-E-B stores have opened in North Texas.

  • Frisco. The northeast corner of Legacy Drive and Main Street
  • Plano. Southwest corner of Preston Road and Spring Creek Parkway
  • Allen. 575 E. Exchange Pkwy.
  • McKinney. The northeast corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway

North Texas Expansion

H-E-B announced three new stores will open in 2025. A location in Melissa at the northeast corner of I-75 and 121, as well as locations in Prosper at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway and Rockwall, on the southwest corner of John King Boulevard and I30, will break ground.
