FWPD promotes 12 to new ranks to improve safety and service

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Fort Worth Police Department held an intimate ceremony at Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex to promote 12 dedicated and accomplished officers from their previous ranks to detectives, sergeants, chiefs and other ranks

The ceremony began with Sgt. Jason Spencer welcoming everyone to the event before the presentation of colors by the Fort Worth Police Honor Guard and bagpipes. Then, Officer Ana Palma sang the national anthem.

In attendance were several City Council members: District 3 Councilmember Michael Crain, District 6 Councilmember Dr. Jared Williams and District 10 Councilmember Alan Blaylock, who all exemplified their support and recognition of the police department.

Chief Neil Noakes delivered a heartfelt and motivational speech, emphasizing the significance of leadership and the pivotal role these law enforcement officers will play in further upholding the department’s mission to keeping the Fort Worth community safe.

Promotion to any positions of authority within law enforcement is not merely a career advancement; it symbolizes a profound trust bestowed upon individuals to lead, guide and inspire their fellow officers.
