Ten student-athletes from DeSoto High School have accepted college athletic scholarships during the annual National Signing Day event. Dr. Usamah Rodgers, the school’s superintendent, expressed pride in the students’ achievements and their future representation of the school and district.
The event was a celebration of the students’ accomplishments, with their commitments announced to an audience. Friends and family members escorted them across the gymnasium, marking their next academic and athletic steps.
Claude Mathis, DeSoto ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, highlighted the event as a chance to celebrate the student-athletes and their families. He emphasized that their scholarships to compete at top colleges and universities reflect the quality of experiences offered at DeSoto ISD.
