Rain moves out, gives way to cooler temperatures

Severe weather is gone and cooler weather will replace it through the rest of the week. A warming trend is on the way this weekend into early next week.

Residents across southeastern Denton and southwestern Collin counties were awakened to hail up to the size of golfballs Wednesday morning. Many areas experienced pocket change-size hail. The rain and storms pressed off to the south and east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

A cold front is south of DFW as well. We’ll look for cooler and drier air to continue to filter into the area through the rest of the week with afternoon highs and the low 80s on Wednesday, mid-80s on Thursday, and near 80 on Friday. Morning lows will be in the 60s, with a smattering of 50s in some of the outlying areas.
