Light The Night is coming to North Texas

DALLAS (KDAF) — The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been making strides in cancer research and patient support for 75 years. This year, you can be a part of the mission.

One of the organization’s most impactful events, Light the Night, brings together corporations, families, and supporters in a night of solidarity, hope, and remembrance. The event features participants carrying illuminated lanterns: white for survivors and current patients, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

The free event begins with a festival atmosphere, followed by a walk and a fireworks finale.

“It really is such a beautiful event,” Leah Swanson said. Swanson is Executive Director of the Red River Region. “It’s such a great way to honor those we’ve lost and those that are going treatment, and letting people know that there’s a community around them.”

Light the Night events are happening across the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Oct. 26 in Dallas, Oct. 27 in Collin County, and Nov. 3 in Tarrant County. Funds raised support research, patient assistance, and advocacy for access to treatment.
