HALTOM CITY, Texas – The Haltom City Police Department is mourning the loss of Lloyd “Gene” Perkins, a dedicated public servant and patriot. Perkins served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army before dedicating four decades to law enforcement in White Settlement, River Oaks, and Haltom City.Perkins began his law enforcement career in 1978 with the White Settlement Police Department and joined the Haltom City Police force in 1985. Although he officially retired in 2011, his commitment to service continued as a reserve officer until 2017, according to a press release from the Haltom City Police Department. His legacy of service and sacrifice is remembered by the community he served.
