Mike Tyson revealed an intriguing detail about his recent fight against Jake Paul, admitting that he “blanked out” after the first round of the bout and that he “doesn’t remember the fight that much.”
The Nov. 15 fight, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as part of Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event, saw the 58-year-old Tyson face off against the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer.
The eight-round bout ended in a unanimous decision for Paul over the former heavyweight champion.
Speaking on the “Covino & Rich” show on Fox Sports Radio on Tuesday, Tyson said, “I don’t remember the fight that much. I kind of blanked out. I haven’t watched the fight back.
“You know what I remember? Coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow… that’s the last thing I remember.”
Before revealing his memory gap, Tyson expressed no regrets about stepping into the ring for a final time to face Paul when he took to X shortly after the event.
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson wrote on X . “I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.”
