FBI investigating mystery ‘drones’ over White Settlement’s Fort Worth military base

The FBI launched an investigation into unidentified unmanned aircraft spotted flying in Texas skies over a major naval military base.

The mysterious “drones,” which have been spotted in multiple states and sparked congressional uproar, were seen this week near the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth in White Settlement.

White Settlement Police Department Chief Christopher Cook said in a statement Wednesday that he first started responding to reports of mysterious “drone” activity near federal and military property Tuesday evening.

“We are working with the FBI, NCIS, and Air Force OSI to determine the flight trajectories and who was piloting the unmanned aircraft. While we do not believe there were any immediate threats related to last night’s activities, it is concerning due to operating in ‘NO FLY ZONES’ near federal and military properties,” Cook said.

The police chief’s statement follows worries from many Washington, D.C., and state lawmakers that thousands of sightings of unidentified, unmanned, flying aircraft could pose a national security risk.
