Mike Tyson has revealed that his recent bout with Jake Paul wasn’t motivated by the prospect of a big payday.
The former world heavyweight champion, at 58 years old, stepped back into the professional ring after nearly two decades away, facing off against the ‘Problem Child’ on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas . Despite hopes of shutting down the 27-year-old social media star turned boxer, Tyson appeared weary during the fight.
Over the course of eight rounds, Paul easily outmanoeuvred Tyson, ultimately securing a unanimous decision win and improving his record to 11-1 while adding yet another notable name to his list of victories. While it’s speculated that the event, exclusively streamed on Netflix , would have brought in substantial earnings for both fighters, Tyson insists that money wasn’t the draw.
