Sailor with family ties to Fort Worth supports U.S. Navy Helicopter Squadron in Norfolk

FORT WORTH (KDAF) — Petty Officer 3rd Class William Morgan, whose mother, Lashawnatye, lives in Fort Worth, Texas, is proudly serving in the U.S. Navy with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5, known for handling the versatile MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter.

Morgan, who has served in the Navy for five years, works as an aviation structural mechanic, maintaining and repairing aircraft to ensure safe and effective missions.

“I always knew I was going to join the military—I just didn’t know which branch,” Morgan said. “I ended up choosing the Navy because they put the most effort into recruiting me. I also saw the military as a stepping stone.”…
