Fort Worth, Texas – Downtown Fort Worth is preparing for a celebration of creativity and community as the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival gears up to welcome thousands of visitors from April 10 to 13. The annual event brings together a rich mix of art, music, and food, showcasing the talents of artists and performers from across the nation. However, as the city gets ready to transform into a bustling arts hub, a wide range of street closures will take place to support the setup and operation of the festival.
Extensive Closures for Setup and Safety
To accommodate the festival, street closures will begin as early as Monday, April 7, and last through Monday, April 14. Several key routes in the downtown area will be temporarily off-limits to through traffic. The closures will affect Main Street, Commerce Street, Houston Street, and multiple cross streets from Weatherford to 9th Street. These closures will support the construction of stages, art booths, vendor stations, and designated pedestrian areas.
Street closures will occur in stages, beginning with major roads like Main Street from Weatherford to 9th Street, and expanding to side streets like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and up to 9th Street. Special accommodations will be made for hotel guests and business access, with contra-flow valet systems and restricted local access where necessary.
Among the notable changes:
- Access to the Hilton Hotel will be maintained from Commerce Street.
- Embassy Suites valet operations will continue via a designated route on 5th Street.
- The Renaissance Worthington Hotel and AC Hotel will remain accessible.
- Valet parking and garage access will be maintained through adjusted traffic lanes and entry points.
Parking and Transportation Adjustments
Street-side parking will be restricted or prohibited in several areas to allow for equipment transport and setup, as well as designated loading and unloading areas. Parking meters in these zones will be bagged, and some lanes will be repurposed for golf cart transportation supporting festival operations…
