‘It just went boom’ | Train crashed into semi truck, spilling beer across North Texas roadway

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Commercial Truck Driver Mark Ortiz has driven for years. But just after 8 a.m. on Monday he witnessed something he never thought he would see — he watched as a train collided with a semi on the tracks, splitting the tractor-trailer in half.

Police were called to the crash in the area of Hicks Field Road and Saginaw Boulevard just north of Saginaw in Tarrant County.

“It just went boom. The train kept on going,” Ortiz said, “not something in a million years did you think would ever happen.”…
