FORT WORTH, Texas — Heavy rainfall in from Wednesday’s storms caused sanitary sewer overflows to occur from the Fort Worth collection system, city officials said in a release.
City officials said that the overflows do not impact Fort Worth’s drinking water and it is safe for personal use, but people who purchase water from a public water supply may contact their distributor to determine if the water is safe.
Drinking water for the City of Arlington is not affected by the overflow, city officials said. All of Arlington’s tap water was being treated at the John F. Kubala Water Treatment Plant, located off of U.S. 287 in South Arlington, at the time of the overflow, according to Fort Worth city officials.
