Texas Severe Storm Alert: Dallas–Fort Worth Faces Large Hail and Wind Risk From 2 PM to Midnight Thursday

Fort Worth, Texas – Residents across North Texas, including the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, should prepare for strong to severe thunderstorms beginning as early as 2 p.m. Thursday, bringing threats of large hail, damaging winds, and heavy downpours.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, scattered storms are expected to intensify into a larger cluster between 2 p.m. and midnight. The main concerns include hail possibly exceeding two inches in diameter and wind gusts strong enough to damage trees and power lines. The greatest risk spans from Graham and Cisco eastward through DFW, Sherman, and Canton, with storm activity expanding southward into Waco and Killeen by evening.
