FORT WORTH, Texas — In recent years, the phrase “everything is bigger in Texas” might especially apply to Fort Worth.
The Census Bureau has consistently ranked it as one of the country’s fastest-growing big cities. Fort Worth officially passed the 1 million resident mark, making it the 11th largest city in the U.S.—larger than Denver, San Diego and even Austin. That growth is fueling a major economic expansion, and city leaders say they’re focused on sustaining it.
“When I first took office, we knew we really needed to lean into economic development differently,” Mayor Mattie Parker said. “We were losing out on deals that we really should have been at the table to negotiate on. But we knew we wanted an outside entity, outside the Chamber, just focused on this responsibility.”…
