When my husband and I first moved to Westcliff nearly three decades ago, I never thought I’d still call the neighborhood home. But I do. It has been a delightful place to live, and I can’t imagine leaving now.
We bought our house based on its layout, size, appearance and proximity to where we both worked in downtown, which was 12 minutes away. But Westcliff also felt like a “real” neighborhood, like the ones we each grew up in.
It is quiet. It is full of leafy mature trees, predominantly live oaks with a smattering of sycamores. Most of the houses are vintage 1940s, so no two are alike. There are no cookie-cutter developer-style houses here. Many owners have updated their homes’ exteriors or remodeled the interiors to add space. The neighborhood actually looks “better” now than it did 30 years ago…
