Popular Vegan Fine-Dining Restaurant Closes ‘Abruptly’ Due to Rent Concerns

Sadly, we see restaurants closing on a daily basis due to financial issues. Earlier this week, a local vegan eatery in Fort Worth, Texas shuttered for good.

Maiden: Fine Plants & Spirits, which opened its doors two years ago, is now “permanently closed,’ the restaurant announced on social media Tuesday. Sadly, Maiden was locked out of its space by the property owners after falling behind on rent and failing to renegotiate a new deal.

“We’re heartbroken to share that, as of this morning, Maiden has been locked out of our space and is now permanently closed,” the post reads. “Like many independent restaurants, we’ve faced an incredibly tough six months with rising costs, a slower season, and the lasting economic effects that so many small businesses are feeling right now. We had fallen behind on rent and were hoping to renegotiate our lease and keep Maiden going in the space we’ve loved so deeply…
