Young Man Sentenced to 32 Years for Fatal Fort Worth Stockyards Shooting

FORT WORTH, TX – Kevin Aguilar, 20, has pleaded guilty to murder in connection with a deadly 2024 shooting in the Fort Worth Stockyards and was sentenced to 32 years in prison, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced on July 18.

In the early morning hours of October 6, 2024, Aguilar fired an AR-style rifle into a crowd of people in a parking lot near the intersection of NW 24th Street and Ellis Avenue. The gunfire struck four individuals, fatally wounding Joseph Padilla, who was celebrating his 18th birthday.
