Texas Dominates Ranking of Best U.S. Cities for Renters

While I’m a big advocate for owning your home, sometimes it’s not possible. The good news is that a city in Texas was determined to be the best in the entire country for renters.

The Reality of the “Homeowner Blues”

Even though I love owning our home, my wife and I like to joke about the “homeowner blues.” That’s when you have to fix something yourself, or even worse, have to pay someone to fix it for you. I do miss being able to pick up the phone and call the landlord when something breaks.

Speaking of landlords, having a good one was top priority when looking for a place to rent. I’ve heard horror stories about landlords not being responsive to renters who have issues; thankfully, I never had to deal with that.

What Makes a City Great for Renters?

Of course, there are plenty of other factors to consider when looking for a new place: apartment quality, neighborhood safety, and cost of living immediately come to mind. After analyzing those factors and others, RentCafe found McKinney to be the best U.S. city for renters.
