History was made earlier this week. A powerful line of storms raced from southwest Kansas to the Gulf overnight Sunday night into Monday morning. As it was making the journey, damaging winds dotted its path.
After a largely quiet trek through Oklahoma, the Mesoscale Convective System flexed in Dallas. A wind gust of 89 mph was clocked at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at approximately 5:39 AM CDT. The lack of widespread damage with a gust like that meant the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth was going to dig a little deeper.
