Fort Worth, Texas – This weekend, Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) is gearing up for one of its most significant animal adoption drives of the year — the MEGA Adoption Event — where more than 1,000 dogs, cats, and other pets will be available to adopt.
Hosted at the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall, located at 3400 Burnett-Tandy Drive, the two-day event will take place Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will bring together over 20 animal shelters and rescue organizations from across the region, all uniting with the shared goal of giving pets a second chance at a loving home.
FWACC will have a large presence at the event, offering dozens of adoptable pets of various breeds, ages, and sizes — many of whom have been waiting in crowded shelters due to the overwhelming intake this summer. Shelter staff and volunteers are hoping to see the community show up in full force to help make room and provide permanent homes to the animals in need.
Gifts for Adopters and Life-Changing Opportunities for Pets
In addition to pet adoptions, attendees will be able to spin a prize wheel with giveaways like a DNA/breed ID kit, a dog food and water bowl set, a pet training kit, a first aid kit, and grooming tools. Every adopted pet will also be sent home with a Welcome Home Kit, which includes essentials like food and supplies to make the transition easier for both the animal and their new family…
