Fort Worth begins accepting applications for federal repair grants to help residents impacted by 2021 winter storm

Fort Worth, Texas – More than four years after the devastating 2021 winter storm, Fort Worth is taking steps to help residents who continue to face hardships from the damage. City officials announced that applications are now being accepted for the Homeowner Assistance Repair and Rehabilitation Program (HARRP), which provides federal funding to assist with critical home repairs.

The February 2021 storm remains one of the worst in Texas history. Temperatures dropped below zero across North Texas, leading to widespread power outages, burst pipes, severe property damage, and tragically, numerous deaths. Even years later, many households are still struggling to restore their homes and replace damaged systems.

The HARRP program is designed to ease that burden. Funds will cover a wide range of essential repairs, including roofing, plumbing, electrical work, heating and cooling systems, and structural improvements.
