Arlington’s Northeast and Lake Arlington Branch Libraries Undergoing Renovations for Enhanced Accessibility and Structural Improvements

Community hubs for learning and connection, the Northeast Branch Library and the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library in Arlington, are currently in the midst of renovations. Improvements for both libraries, as shared by the City of Arlington, aim to bolster accessibility and enhance structural integrity, with expectations set for completion in the coming months.

Specifically, the Northeast Branch at 1905 Brown Blvd. is set to receive a revamped accessibility ramp, alongside new roofing, windows, and front doors. “While the doors are being replaced this fall, patrons will be directed to a temporary entrance on the east side of the building,” details from the City of Arlington stated. Despite part of the parking lot being out of service due to the construction, and with handicap parking and ramp access temporarily shifted, services remain in operation. The timeline for these renovations stretches to an anticipated completion by November, assuming the approval by local voters in the 2023 Bond Election aligns with project progress.

Conversely, over at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch located at 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd., the focus is on mending the exterior retaining wall. These repairs may result in intermittent closures of adjacent sidewalks and portions of Green Oaks Boulevard to both pedestrians and vehicles.
