You can always count on Texas getting plenty of love for its barbecue. So, I fully expected to see the Lone Star State represented in Southern Living’s list of the 4 hottest barbecue cities this year. However, I was somewhat surprised to see Fort Worth make the list.

Don’t get me wrong – as someone who spends more time in Fort Worth than any other major Texas city, I’m fully aware of how great the barbecue joints are there. But it feels like Austin and Houston (which did make the list) tend to get more recognition for having great barbecue.
