Texas graffiti case tests First Amendment with felony hate crime charges against three activists

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — The exterior walls are clean now, but a year ago, prosecutors say a late-night act of graffiti at Uncommon Church in Euless crossed the line into a hate crime.

Three Muslim activists face felony charges. One of them, Afsheen Khan, appeared in court on Monday surrounded by dozens of supporters and her attorney.
