Man bites Crowley cop’s finger during arrest in grocery store theft, police say

A man accused of stealing grocery items Monday morning from a Kroger store in Crowley was combative as police tried to arrest him and once in custody he bit an officer’s finger, according to a news release.

Officers had responded to a report of a suspicious person inside the Kroger at 1004 Crowley Road when they spotted the 32-year-old suspect running from the store to his car, according to the news release posted on the Crowley Police Department Facebook page./

The suspect resisted arrest and a Taser was deployed twice before he was taken into custody. The man started to “self-harm” and was moved from the pavement to a grassy area, where he continued to resist arrest…
