Fellow activist reacts after Raunaq Alam’s arrest on new perjury charges amid ongoing legal woes

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Self-proclaimed activist Raunaq Alam, 32, has surrendered to Tarrant County deputies on new charges tied to his ongoing legal battles. His family released a video of Alam being taken into custody in handcuffs.

Fellow activist Stacey Monroe said she was heartbroken by the arrest.
