Fort Worth Residents Help Document Local Biodiversity in Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz Events

In late summer 2025, Fort Worth’s Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) participated in the national Parks for Pollinators challenge. The program encouraged residents to document local plants and pollinators. The Native Prairies Association of Texas and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge supported the initiative. Several BioBlitz events took place across the city using the iNaturalist app.

PARD’s Central District Park Operations team, led by Alexia Sanchez, recorded the most observations and species. The Northside Community Center’s after-school youth program, led by Raul Meza, had the highest number of observations from a single facility. Both groups received recognition at an awards ceremony…
