The festive spirit will dim in the Metroplex in Texas this December as Arlington staple Campo Verde, famed for transforming into a twinkling, all-out Christmas wonderland, officially closes its doors on Christmas Eve 2025.
A Texas Tradition of Holiday Magic
After more than four decades of garlands, trains, and merry memory-making, it’s a bittersweet farewell for the Texas-sized celebration. From 120,000 lights to a toy train circling the dining room, Campo Verde became a holiday destination in North Texas.
The décor was outrageous in all the right ways: 3,000 yards of garland, 50 Santa figures, 30 Christmas trees, and sets of model trains, all part of the recipe that made it the place for festive dining in the DFW area.
Why It’s Shutting Down (and What’s Coming Next)
According to the owners, the concept had become more of a memory capsule than an evolving restaurant. “We’ve come to realise that Campo Verde is more than a restaurant; it’s a memory, a feeling, a time capsule,” said Chef Mouhssine “Moose” Benhamacht.
While the holiday decor remained iconic, the behind-the-scenes business side reportedly faced “real challenges.” The plan is to re-imagine the space with a fresh concept early in 2026.
