Black Friday shoppers in Arlington got an unwelcome scare last night when reports of gunfire sent police rushing to a cluster of businesses across from The Parks Mall, officials said. Officers found evidence that two separate groups had exchanged gunfire in the 4200 block of South Cooper Street and searched the area for victims and witnesses. Authorities reported no immediate injuries and said they did not believe the public was in danger as officers continued their work. Detectives canvassed the surrounding retail corridor into the evening, looking for security video and eyewitnesses.
