Last month, SPD got a call from detectives in Arlington, Texas about a gun stolen during a car burglary.
That same firearm turned up at a pawn shop here in Shreveport in October pawned by Javion Brown. Pawn shop staff told detectives they recognized Brown and that he’s sold guns there before.
This time he walked away with $120, which is far below what the gun was worth, and signed paperwork swearing he owned it when he clearly didn’t. Once the firearm was confirmed to be stolen, the pawn shop took a loss and asked to press charges.
