In a year that has seen more than its share of notable barbecue closures, another acclaimed spot for all things smoked meats is closing its doors just before Christmas. An opportunity the owners could not pass on is being credited for seeing the barbecue food truck shut down for good.
Sabar BBQ, which was just named to Texas Monthly’s Top 50 BBQ Joints list, has been serving hungry travelers at its Fort Worth food truck since 2023. However, the barbecue truck announced on Monday, December 15, that it will close for good on Saturday, December 20, after just two years in the North Texas barbecue hub.
“Life moves fast. Just a few weeks ago we were planning another smoker, working toward a brick-and-mortar, and adding Fridays to our service days…and now we’re closing,” Sabar BBQ wrote in an Instagram post. “An opportunity came up that we couldn’t pass on, and while this chapter is ending, we’re incredibly grateful for the journey.”…
