In Fort Worth, the community has rallied together to bring joy and surprise to a 12-year-old boy this Christmas. According to a report by WFAA, local residents David and Kelly Stocker, along with the Fort Worth Police Department, gifted the child with a new bike after learning about his efforts to save money by raking leaves. The visit also uncovered that the family had been victims of theft, with several packages, including a gaming chair and a puppet toy, stolen from their porch. In response, the community extended its generosity further by providing additional gifts, such as a gaming chair.
Similarly, another act of community spirit in the OKC area came to light when volunteers, led by D’Anna Pulliam, sought to ensure every child listed on the Salvation Army Angel Tree received a bicycle for Christmas. KFOR revealed the Buck$4 Bikes program raised $43,000 this year to put together 700 bikes. With the Oklahoma Bicycle Society volunteering to assemble them, the initiative found a way to not only provide gifts but also encourage active lifestyles among children.
